Here are a few photos from our trip to Glacier-Waterton National Park, in Montana and Alberta, in August 2011. Click on one of the small images below to see it full size.

We hiked around Swiftcurrent Lake. The Many Glacier Hotel is right on Swiftcurrent Lake. Wild Goose Island in Saint Mary Lake, along the East side of the Going-to-the-Sun Road. Sunrift Gorge.

Charlie started his 27-mile hike from Packers Roost to Goat Haunt shortly before sunrise. Sunrise from the Flattop Mountain trail. This bridge on the Flattop Mountain trail was very wobbly. Waterfalls on Flattop Creek.
Charlie met a moose who was determined to hike the same trail. On Flattop Mountain, there were wide-open meadows as well as dense forests. In some areas, the trees were completely burned from the 2003 fire. The 1,000' wall leading to the Sue Lake overlook.

Lizards seem to be really important in Waterton. We stayed one night at the "historic" Prince of Wales Hotel in Waterton. Waterton Lake from the Prince of Wales Hotel. At the Prince of Wales Hotel, they serve "English Tea" in the lobby.
